Reef Ray

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"There is an effortless grace to all manta rays. They seem to almost fly through the water.

In Reef Ray, I wanted to capture that quiet movement against the extraordinary abundance of life below. This is the home of the Reef Manta Ray The ray moves calmly above a reef filled with color, activity and countless individual lives, each occupying its own small place within a much larger ecosystem. For me, the contrast is what makes the piece—the simplicity and freedom of the manta above, and the complexity of the world beneath it.

Reef Ray is a reminder that beneath the surface, even the quietest moment can exist within an entire world of life."
